This Privacy Policy explains how Simplexfit ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information when you use the Simplexfit app at simplexfit.com. We are based in South Africa and comply with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

1. Information we collect

We collect the following information when you use Simplexfit:

Email address and password (when you create an account)
Fitness preferences and profile information you provide during onboarding (gender, fitness level, equipment, session preferences)
Workout history, completed sessions, and progress data
Subscription and billing status (we do not store payment card details — these are handled by PayFast)
Basic usage data such as when you log in and use the App

2. How we use your information

We use your information to:

Create and manage your account
Generate personalised workout plans based on your preferences
Track and display your progress over time
Process your subscription and send billing-related emails
Send transactional emails such as account verification and subscription confirmations
Improve the App based on usage patterns

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.

3. Data storage and security

Your data is stored on secure servers hosted by Hostinger. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text. We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information from unauthorised access, disclosure, or loss.

While we take reasonable steps to protect your data, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. You use the App at your own risk.

4. Payment processing

Subscription payments are processed by PayFast, a third-party payment provider. When you subscribe, your payment details are handled directly by PayFast and are not stored on our servers. PayFast is a PCI DSS Level 1 certified provider. Their privacy policy is available at payfast.co.za.

5. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription, your data is kept for 6 months before being permanently deleted. If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal information within 30 days.

6. Your rights under POPIA

Under the Protection of Personal Information Act, you have the right to:

Access the personal information we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate information
Request deletion of your personal information
Object to the processing of your personal information
Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa

7. Cookies

Simplexfit uses a session cookie to keep you logged in. This cookie is essential for the App to function and does not track you across other websites. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.

8. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services:

PayFast — payment processing
Hostinger — server and email hosting
Google Fonts — font delivery (no personal data shared)

9. Children

Simplexfit is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
